Breakfast: Date Porridge with Goji Berry and Lemon Tea.



When the rain is battering the windows and it’s looking a bit bleak outside, there is nothing better than a comforting, sustaining bowl of porridge. Its great source of protein and helps keep me going until lunch time. I make mine with Almond Milk which gives you a boost of Vitamin E and calcium. For a sweeter taste I chopped up a couple of medjool dates and mix it in with the porridge for little bits in each bite.



Sipping on a mug of detoxing hot lemon tea is a great way to stimulate the liver in the morning. Popping some goji berries into the tea will give the benefit of vitamin c, which is just what you need on a cold day as it helps you maintain a healthy immune system. When I have finished the tea I either eat them or add them to the remains of my porridge. They are plump and delicious after being soaked for a bit. Scrummy!

  1. I love porridge especially this time of year, I mix in nuts and raisins and make with coconut milk! Rooboos tea for me in the morning, with radio on at 6.30 wakes my brain up to drag me out of bed! :) karen
